Here I am
And there they are
Nagging me
Are the daily chores
Mounds upon mounds
Of hassle
I was trying to escape
Necessity
Wasting my wit
Into the blink of a night
Like all the others
Even Bradstreet tried
Avoid what must be done
This is truly me
Until the morning previews
How much laundry
I have to do
I’d rather not
But I must
You see
If I went to work smelly
It would cause controversy
So in dismay
I will leave this world
Of fun and play
And get to the laundry
With nothing to say
