She came upon me
in undressed thoughts,
A diaphanous mind,
and a naked soul.
I engaged her thus
Girded for contest
With steely resolve
And untried patience.
We danced in candlelight
Had dinner on the floor
And talked about
Books she loved
I played “dome epais”
And the music filled us,
It was dessert -
and then wine.
Her eyes were lovely,
her lips the color of the wine.
The dim light caressed her face,
I wondered, would she spend the night?
Closed windows,
Opened hearts,
Dreams in flight, and
Gossamer thoughts.
Author notes
Dome epais..a duet featuring mezzo and coloratura soprano voices, from the opera Lakme, by Delibes and the movie "Someone to Watch Over Me"

i like the give and take of the piece- i hate the title- it's too expected- i like the story of the piece- i am unsure how it fits the picture? ok- so that was my give and take response- i am certainly glad you entered the contest

it sort of reminded me of a tango... each person taking a part in a sensual dance...
cleverly done... .. not sure how the image of the girl wrappped in clingfilm brought this about... but it's a good piece and I liked it...
well done and many thanks for taking part in the contest

Impeccable descriptions, Poet Man...Although why you should wonder, I'll never know...Who in their right mind could ~ or would ~ resist such a loving & passionate staging of events??? There is yet Beauty in this world...& much of it is upon the pages of your memory...Elegantly penned, my Friend...Good luck in Mary's contest...

No lovemaking this time, not even foreplay. This goes to that magical moment before that when the two dance around each other, bonding in that intangible way you can sense, in that its palpable all around you, but you never know when it begins, just when it escalates and brings you...well..."to that place where lovers go"

That is a delightful and glorious moment for that music is a favorite and I close my eyes and I get the picture of your captured memory in my mind with that music playing, softly beautiful.
Love, C
