I knew I couldn't keep you
But it was fun to pretend
Strolling down the promenade
As nighttime would descend
That time you tried to kiss me
But got nervous and turned your head
So I spluttered out a laugh
And you took my hand instead
Fireflies like romance lights
Swooping dizzy, floating round
And my head was spinning too
As you lifted me off the ground
You wrapped your arms around my waist
And whispered in my ear
Trailing kisses right across my face
Saying the words I longed to hear
Oh how I wish I could have that summer back
And you would still be mine,
Our lives just followed different paths
But the memories are devine.

Congrats on the gold for this piece. It was a wonderful tale of reflection on love past. TOTALLY CAPTIVATING ALL THE WAY THROUGH. sorry about the caps, sometimes on this old pc the button sticks.
