a man of individuality

a man of words and artistry

hopes and dreams of love

forever contemplating

life

in black and white

or shades of passion

he speaks of woe

and happiness

as though they’re one and the same

and he wrote to me

of cats and smiles

and contentment

individuality,

his name upon my heart

forever imbedded

forever remembered

as he spills ink

into the crazy shape of love

~*~*~*~*~

A dedication to individuality

or chasingtheday

or whatever name he’s using

at any given time

dee garner

This is a beautifully written tribute to your dear friend. You've gone far beyond simply saying, "He means so much to me," with your rich and vivid language.

Ian is indeed that brilliant poet among us. Every time I visit his page, I find his words of wisdom and my respect increases for him. I also agree that woe and happiness are the same like love and sorrow. This was really a good tribute to this poet.
Thank you for entering the contest and sharing this with us and good luck to you

I am not aware of the man you speak of, but you have painted a picture of your (individual) subject with flair and aplomb

Oh I do agree with your assessment of his talent not only as a writer but artist as well. We don't cross paths much anymore except an occasional comment on the same poem but I can assure you that I was always impressed by his work. Best wishes in this challenge.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

woe and happiness, they are the same, both give madness strange, i was just looking in the cat poem i did for you earlier as i have been doing some editing with my poetry, and here you are waving to me individuality/chasingtheday are the two main ones i use, though i still have a dormant account here besides this one which is kicking back for a time. thank you dee, you brought a smile my way and it danced

Thank you, Ian I'm glad you read this and approve. I hope you're planning to keep my kitty poem up. I plan to make reference to it again when I get my bio back up and will post the other one you wrote for me and my cats in an IM one time... see I don't forget

I was so pleased when I saw your name on Massy's contest, just had to write about you

      Love and
