i didn't see it coming.
the noose, draped against my throat,
like a rope of pearls- a farewell gift,
grating goodbyes & rugburn-
the noose of time.
how i'd neglected knowing,
truths tangled on the gallows of age-
where someday I'd swing;
away from rocking chairs
& curling calico cats.
because fading fast,
in the coffin glow [of nevermores,]
I'd dangle
to my death.

Another gold for your collection, I see.
DancingRed.
