Time Is Not On My Side

used to be so virile
and full of life
skin so porcelain pure
no blemishes to be found
everything was in it's right place
didn't need to lift anything
feet were so pretty
loved to have naked feet
to show off my pretty little toes
flashed my pearly white smile
every chance i got
i could eat whatever i wanted
i could party
----or study
for days surviving on 3 hours sleep
----of 48 hours

but

time
can be
so very freakin
cruel

time won't forgive me
for smoking cigarettes since i was fourteen
and now
my skin is full of wrinkles

several pregnancies later
after 22 years of drinking
a six pack of pepsi a day
everything needs to be lifted
the boobs hang low
yes they waggle to and fro
the butt jiggles with the slightest movement
and
the belly is like an extra body part
from all the excess skin that didn't
"bounce back" post pregnancy

those pretty little toes
aren't so appealing these days
don't even wanna wear sandals anymore
never believed the old school folk
who told me that walkin' round bare foot
would make me feet hard
but it did.
it was that and
3 years of wearing combat boots
while in prison

gotta watch what i eat and get lots of sleep
or i become a beastly bitch
with the flames of indigestion flaring from
my nostrils as i rage with premenopausal insanity

No.
time is not forgiving.
it's very cruel
as age
creeps up
on us.

Yeah, the pepsis, especially if they are sugared are almost as bad as cigarettes for your body. They will make you suffer osteopenia or osteoporosis as well as diabetes and other ills. So keep off the cigs and pepsi and you'll be amazed at how well you fell in six to twelve weeks

    love ya
