What is age?
A method of defining
How old something is
But how should we measure age?
An 'old person' is considered
To be old after 65
When they recieve pensions
Yet children class their Mothers
As old, when in truth
They might not have hit
'middle age'
However, an oak tree
Can live to 300 years
Maybe more
And that is not classed as old
When it hits 65
In the German language
When asked your age,
Or how old you are,
The reply is:
'I am ... Years Old'
The same in English
But in the french language
Is is more adaptable
To longer living organisms
Where the response is:
'I have ... Years'
But a large figure does not
Necessarily mean old
You can be 1728336 minutes old
Yet that would only equate
To 3 and a bit years
So, we ask ourselves
What age are we?
I think, we are all
as old as we want
ageless...
timeless...
and infinite...
