Floating Pictures

Pictures float about in a pond
made of tears and sorrow,

Floating up to the surface
only to be seen then fall
once again to the bottom,

Some float for what seems
like forever always to
remind us of the people we see,

The water is calm and silent
not a ripple seen in it
for there is no more
breath of life to move it,

Sadness fills this pond
yet the trees surrounding it
fill the scene with beauty
and a promise of life later,

We reach in to the pond to
snatch up memories of times past
and of people we knew,

Never to let them fall
out of our hearts and
keep them forever in
our minds,

They may be gone
she may be gone
someone may be gone,

Yet the love we feel for
her, him, them,
will never disappear,

So hold on to their memory
love them forever
and leave them never.

Cool poem, I like the general tone of the piece but I think that the fourth stanza is awkward.

This was beautiful. Heartwrenching and altogether glorious. A tribute to someone who deserved the honor you have bestowed in writing this and it spoke volumes to me. A picture can be worth a thousand words but its always a treasured memory.
