The shadows frame this painting
they keep calling the world,
changing the light to darkness
that colors the wide meadows.
If there was no black in this world
to balance the eternal white,
there would be no tomorrow to
balance the long yesterday.
Black is the color of my emotions
that make me who I am,
for without a contrast to white,
I wouldn’t be perfect.
If there were no black in shadows,
this world would be blind,
for how can we see in brightness
that hurts our naked eyes?
The shadows frame this painting
they keep calling the world,
and the black shade of happiness
is what I always long for.
