Art
Call me canvas
Stretch my skin taught and tight
Placid, tender, fair, and white
Dip your tongue in lover’s rhyme
Paint my body, sound my chime
Call me clay
Mold my heart, my soul, my dreams
Shape my love, your kiss redeems
Sculpt my body, firm your hands
Bend my will, sensual sands
Call me photo
Black and white, sepia, genteel sight
Capture me in image bright
Light the hues, tender the scene
Cajole my soul; primp and preen
Call me statue
Hard as stone, soft the flesh; yet firm the bone
An ancient alter, or princesses throne
Use your talented hands in an artist’s rite
Sensually sculpt my dreams both day and night
~
You are the artist, I am your game
Tempt my smiles, hide my shame
Mona Lisa’s innocence fades
In Beaugerau’s fantasy shades
And drums the beat of yearning hearts
Hidden in your lovers arts

Such an excellent piece of rhyme and flow. Beautifully unique, this write creates a vision unlike any other. I adore the purity of your words, cascaded in shades of love. Bravo!!!

I rarely dabble in rhyme. I am a freeverse girl at heart, yet the rhyme here called to me. Came to me as I awoke from a dream that faded like mist. So I birthed it, and posted it here to be oggled

I am so glad you enjoyed. Two critiques on this, and both from artists who reflect art. Blessings be.

Always a joy to hear from you Jon, and with such kind words. I blush.

I am in love with this. I like the way you compare yourself to the artwork another has created, and that you are the product of love and affection. My favourite lines are
'Call me clay
Mold my heart, my soul, my dreams
Shape my love, your kiss redeems'
That to me sums up the entire piece. Wonderful
