The world will tell you lies, my dear;
the scars they leave will bleed.
"Your dreams will never dare come true!"
"You're delusional, a fool!"
"Precisely who d'you think you are, little girl?"
"You never will do better."
Oh, the world will tell such lies, my dear,
lies you can't believe.
"She's such a slave to scandal!"
"What did he see in her?"
"She'll not hold him close again!"
"She's quite shameless in her pride."
Dear girl, don't you believe those lies;
folks tell them out of greed.
"He'll never look at me the same."
"He'll never hold me dear."
"I'll never tell him how I feel!"
"Good god! Why should I live?!"
Sweet girl, they are such foolish lies.
You're strong enough, you see.
You're strong enough to stand alone,
strong enough to fly.
What need have you of simple fools?
You'll be all right. You'll see.
Author notes
It's a bit of a blend of the two. Hope it helps, and best of luck to you.

it is a beautiful and heart felt poem, you speak truth here, it is hard to see how strong one can be, but time tends to prove this to be true, even at times it may not seem so a bearuitful poem once again thank you for entering! and best of luck!
