Sing to me

I hear the
softness of your melody,
it plays in tune, filling
the hollowness that lingers within.
It brings with it a warmth
that inspires joy, echoing my sadness
as it heals my hurt.
Your voice, so soft, akin
to a gentle touch, soothing
the fires that rage inside
the seeming depths of my soul.
I close my eyes and surrender;
unwillingly I realise I
want to be like this forever.
The longing I once thought I'd buried,
Renews with a pain so deep that
my only wish is for
you not to stop; I fear
the anguish that clings to my
heart may decide to consume
me tonight...so please,
please sing to me my dear.
