Novice and Maturity

Early morning sun emerges; watery at first ,
it's only a novice beginning
gradually, strength embodies light, reaching full maturity.

Fresh new leaves gradually unfurl, kissed by sun's warmth
novice growth greeting the new day
tips extend, showing veins of green on velvet, tip to stem.

A Wren forages for food, beak thrashing this way and that,
fluffy coats like eiderdowns cloak the novice babies
waiting for a filled belly in nest of moss and dried mud.

Snowdrops sit at the feet of an old oak
for all the world like novices bowing their heads in prayer
paying homage to the crag that protects their vulnerability.

A lone walker begins a new path in hesitation
just a novice, trying to find a new goal
taking  in:

the fullness of sun's warmth,
pungent freshness of new leaves,
birds on song, in the nest, on the wing,

humble, bowed heads.

The novice element metamorphosis's
maturity balances the scales.

It's nice ot read your poetry again, after so long. You really have gotten amazing. I must say that resignation is my favorite poem of yours. But I am enjoying reading them all.

Strong imagery for different types of novice.
I like how this all flows in a positive direction of growth. Blue
