Pressing The Point.

Life, I’ve been learning.
Sucking it up, again and again
Ribbons, white and silken
That devil bitch wrapped all in white
I saw her.

Welcome to Hell, red on red
Where innocence screams
As though he's forgotten how to fly
Shiver. Let him go, you bastard pigs
We’d let them in if they could only -

Lipstick marks.
See here, on his fingertips
We cast the smokes to the floor
Brad and Janet, they're okay.
X-rated my arse, my mother wept
She weeps for someone else's pain
Her poor son.
How mother wept.

Red heart bursts, volcano bursts.
Bang bang bang. Mascara runs.
Men can’t wear dresses.
The edges are pinched, the pressure is building.
And it bursts like a vein, easy as falling.
Easy as snapping a soul. Hey, you.

Sharon, oh, Sharon, baby. Rocky.
Oh, baby. Remember to let go.

I’m your very own sex symbol,
With concave waist and ridged white chest
And lipstick smeared by rough love.
Oh, aren’t you glad I’m here?

Just remember why I’m here.
See how I can let go?
The feathers slide. Look at me now.
See the rotting smile?
Fuck me. Do it. I dare you.
Just look at me now. Look at me.
Shame it’s all a show. Look.

Author notes

It's still very much related to the Rocky Horror Show - which to me was a perfect display of human decadence and failings. Frank was an example. Consider this the last soliloquy of a man very much like him. You can have an explanation of it all if you want, but I think you can draw your own conclusions. Ta'ra.

Sweet!! Don't need an explanation - sometimes defining a piece precisely makes it lose some of its appeal - especially as so many are like to identify with different parts and some themes will appear stronger to some depending on their situation and what happening in their lives when they read it!
But you definitely get your point across with this piece - I detected quite a bitter sarcastic undertone.

Your poem really made me think - and for the most part that is what I look for!

The language was eloquent and the imagery was amazing - to be honest I can't say that I can pick a favourite line or stanza - The poem - for me needs to be read as a whole! But I will say it is truly amazing. And one more thing - now I want to cry
If you were looking to inspire emotion and reaction then mission accomplished.

You are truly an amazing poet.

    ...well.

I would enjoy an explanation, if you dare. (or please)
