Broken Bottle

Dreams are so invasive.
No matter how hard you try,
you cannot hide from them.
They follow you,
burrow into your consciousness,
and force you to confront
them, force you acknowledge
what you tried so hard to bury.
They unearth the feelings
and memories you thought
you had successfully buried,
exhume parts of you
that are better off dead,
but refuse to be forgotten.

...I've never wanted
to talk to you more
than I do right now.

In the closing lines you have...

    ...I've never wanted
    to talk you more
    than I do right now.

I think perhaps you meant for that middle line to read
    "to talk TO you more".

Having pointed that out, I think you did a fabulous job here. I had several thing in mind when I chosen this word for the list but I really like what you came up with here. Thank you for taking the time and effort to enter my contest. Good luck!

I swear that I had this page up yesterday with the intent of reading it and commenting. I did the former, but not the latter. Here it is now:

    Dear pixxie,

Please stop writing awesome poetry. You're making us all look dum. That is all.

But seriously, "exhume parts of you that are better off dead, but refuse to be forgotten." Brilliant

This is so very truthful pixxie, it is in truth a wonderful write, holding no boundaries - almost the inner struggle between facing it all, and hiding and trying to decide what would be better...and almost asking a question of the dreams being had. I especially liked the ending and found i could relate almost instantly.
    Loved it.
