Freeing the Chains of Lust

Missing image
I live in the dark where I hide my lies
My heart races as I see you undress
I watch your shape and form with my eyes
I secretly touch and savor each caress

My hands move from you chest to your thighs
The temporary moment of pleasure is fleeting
My soul leaves empty as it cries
I'm not sure if my heart remains beating.

Still I return for more to fill the empty hole
Yet the sadness and shame remain
Once again she has exacted her toll
Though I know I'm the one to blame

The cycle spins ever downward
My depravity worsens over time
Seems slavery is my reward
Destitute desires has become my pastime.

I detest the very person I've become
Over me, my sexual desire now reigns
I am completely empty and undone
Who can set me free from my chains?

Out of the darkness of depravity and shame
A light shines upon my hidden lies
I hear a whisper calling my name
An answer to my soul's desperate cries

Come to me and satisfy your thirsty soul
Drink from the abundant waters of life
Let my spirit fill your empty hollow hole
Come rest from your weary strife

My eyes look to see the glory of your face
Joyful pleasures enters within
My hands reach to grasp you loving grace
As your blood covers my sin.

I delight in the person I've become
Over me your desire now reigns
I am completely filled and redone
I have been set free from my chains.

Author notes

Lust leaves one empty longing for more. Only drinking of the "living water" can fill the emptiness in our souls. Lust cannot fill that hole.

This is very well done. I like how you made the poem sensual, but it does not seem hard core. I really enjoyed this, it is a very good read. The only problem I can find is that I do not like the rhyme between time and pastime since the second one ends with the word time, that being the word you are already rhyming with. (I'm confusing myself.) Good luck in my contest, and thanks for entering.
