I don't have money
I don't have fame
I don't have inventions
Or Letters of Claim
My children are average
My house; a bit cluttered
I like my food simply
And often well-buttered
My health it is failing
The bills often late
My writing is simple
Not something that's great
Yet the love that I have
In family and spouse
More than makes up
The poor living of house
I feel like a queen
With riches to spike it
I have all I want
And that's the way I like it!
Author notes
This is much the way it is with me, for we are poor and mostly happy with a love that makes it all OK!
