If appologies were gold,
Lord, you know I could buy the world.
But I guess that's the problem anyway?
I know selfishness
Seeps through me,
Pulsating out
Like some radioactive mess
That infects those around.
I act like an animal,
Caught up in the game,
Survival mode,
Forgeting everything You've said....
All I can do is
What I always do,
Come clean and contrite
And hope
Somewhere
I can hold on to You,
Letting go of me.
Author notes
Selfishness is so rampant in every MDC it is scary.
I mean, the entire American Dream is "How much can you get? Don't be happy untill you have all you can."
I understand that living like that is harmful to you as a being, and I fight against this urge to put me first everyday.
It's hard to fight a constant war.

Yes, there is always a war raging inside. The battle between right and wrong is seemingly everlasting, at least in the flesh/carnal realm. A very concise work here poet. I understand the remorse as to what we do by nature. Excellent writ! Thank you for taking the time to enter my challenge. I wish you the best.
Much Love ♥
Renee
