I was taught
life is naught-
overly distraught
and without a thought
i forgot i fought
the captive i caught
a captive unnamed,
retained and restrained
the one ive wanted all along
the one that still remains strong
in heart, mind and spirit
though i could never let them hear it
a secret to remain with me
here in this misery
it was once know
and happily shown
id do anything
to hear life sing
your name out to me
so that i could see
all is not lost,
but heavily glossed
everythings a smudge
and now i hold a grudge
a heart in power
doesn't know the hour
it only knows lifes gone sour
and now i cower
i want you back
but the power i lack
heart black as sin
i know ill never win...

hmm..
You may need to work on this
It's a good write
Has the potential to become better
Maybe Make your lines longer
or rhyme on every other line
so it doesnt sound too forced
keep it up
Thank you for entering
Good Luck in the contest
