Please forgive me
It's snowing out here,
I know this is my punishment.
I am truly contrite
for dragging snow
into the house.
It is miserable out here,
I feel wretched and woeful.
Can't you see that I am truly
conscience-stricken?
My repentance knows no bounds
for chewing your slipper.
Please have sympathy.
Look into these pitiful eyes.
I regret my naughty deeds
and promise to mend
my most disobedient ways.
Now will you please
take me for my walk?

At first I thought you were writing about a child...and then I realized a dog. Same thing...our pets are like our children as well! So touching, how you portrayed how they never mean any harm, and just want to be let in. Beautifully written!
The title is good, but the first and last line through me off. I didn't catch that last line until I re-read it...too far down. I swore at first that the poor dog wanted to come in from the snow! I see it now. Of course, the picture! Cute dog... -
Great take on the photograph. Poor pooch is truly "sorry" according to your well written poem. Thank you for the time spent to enter my challenge. I wish you the best!
Much Love ♥

Brilliant!
I used to have a gorgeous Labrador retriever who would get up to all kinds of mischief and wreck the house! But as with a child one couldn't be mad with him for long, and I would always oblige with a lengthy walk in the woods. Wonderful poem.
