The Sacred and Profane

This one seeks the other.
The other saves the former.

The cliché seeks the fresh,
while the fresh will be clichéd.
What becomes born, marginalized,
and the marginal shall be reborn.

The darkness seeks the light;
the light fills the darkness.
While the two look at others;
the two remain together.

The other seeks the former.
The former seeks the latter.

    truth

    duality is essential! we cannot have one without the other!

    the only piece of criticism I have is regarding the words 'marginal' and 'marginalized'. it makes sense, but when you read the poem aloud... as i did just to make sure... it disturbs the overall grace of the poem. it just seemed clumsy.

    but i would like to point out, on a philosophical note, that according to the taoists, everything has an opposite except for the present moment. ... and i think i agree. ;o) Have a fabulous day.

    Well done. I like the comparisons you make. Very unique and cleverly done.
    "The cliché seeks the fresh,
    while the fresh will be clichéd." That was my favorite part.
    Thanks for your comment.
