Vain

Heart of ice
Defrosting
And becoming whole
Sweet smell of roses
Left in my heart
Showing me love isn't always in vain

You turned me around
Made me believe
There's something better
Something worth fighting for
Something you didn't tell me
Didn't say was in vain

I offered my love
My heart on a platter
You ripped it out
And contradicted everything
You made true in my eyes
And proved it was in vain

You've left me here
Surrounded by my tears
And the fragments
That were once my heart
Leaving me to pick up the pieces
And showed me my love was in vain

Now my heart's petrified
Stone pieces in a pit
Buried six feet down
I'm done with everything
I'm done seeking it
And saying love's name in vain

It does need tweeked a little I think, but as is, it's doing pretty well on its own. Somewhere in the poem (second to last stanza I think), you said "pic" and I think that you left the "k" off. Supurb Sherri, you're a natural!
