The Wilted Wreath

A stamp from afar was found in the mail,
The male in my life was saying goodbye,
Goodbye! in shreds I put in the trash pail,
Pale fragments of worthless words from that guy.
Guy I hooked to his car, soon it’s a wreck,
Reckless fury to erase every rote,
Wrote an adios to my life’s bad check,
Check for my cruise, the Bahamas I vote.

Author notes

Uh, I took great liberties with the form. I'll understand if it is not acceptable.
I hope I did not ruin the form.

Definitions:
Guy: a man, or a rope, cable, or appliance used to guide and steady an object being hoisted or lowered, or to secure anything likely to shift its position.
(like his car, down an incline plane into the ocean!)

Rote: by memory

An enjoyable piece of poetry, ah I see the form now, wordplay with beginnings and such, a good form poem.

    Clever!

I enjoyed the cheeky message and also your manipulation of the form, why not use homonyms? I came across another poem which used them to comic advantage: http://oldpoetry.com/opoem/63338-Donald-Marquis-The-Rondeau
    Congratulations on your HM!

lol, this was so clever and witty and the use of the homonyms a unique twist and it was so enjoyable and I think the 'liberties' taken worked well!
    Good Luck in the Contest!
    Thanks,
    m.

I had previously read the information of this form from the link on the Contest Page, and I LOVE the "liberties" you have taken by this poem. Not only have you written the form, but written it to rhyme and homonyms, too!

You couldn't "ruin" a thing...And if it's not what the creator of the form intended, you still got poetic license! Best wishes in the contest!
