regret

Rising sound,
        pervasive
tatoos it's rythm
on my flesh
                        a soul song
upon the wind
                    blowing
my regrets
searing notes
that                singe
branding
an echoing
            lament

a keening trill
            struck upon

a Resonator's
                  frets

and painted here
to echo still

to one who
turns        deaf ear

So many different ways people interpret this picture - each poem offers something unique that makes it stand out among others. Enjoyed the form you used here and the use of space - very original and interesting.

I was going to say sorta like a keyboard of the soul but the closer I read it the more I think her tune is that of a harmonica, and Blues at that, specifically "Sugar Blues" from Harlem. Don't know how many on Ap know of him but Muddyking probably does? For those who don't.....

so pull up a stump and enjoy a little gale force love.
Sweet write there love, it rocks the soul.

Wonderful! thought provoking, good flow almost musical. Good word choice; pervasive, huh?

    Singing to the Deaf?

Don't worry fine poet! I have two ears and will listen with both to make up for it. The horse whisperer walks all the way around the horse, checking it's reactions from every angle, before attempting to bridle it. Perhaps the soul song is being heard, and the hearer reflecting upon the response? I dunno. Just saying. Three more bunnies for you.
