Dismal Soul

To most in the world, all she defined was a wag
In her classes she played;
In life she jested without a serious moment to be seen
Her smile was repeatedly agog;
Her excitement a beacon to her friends lost in the vapid life they led during school
To others, she represented excitement and the joy of life,
But in her tattered heart, she struggled not to show her dismal soul
No one knew the truth about her,
How her life was leading her askew and she followed like a lamb to its death
No one knew about the war that raged internally during night and day
How the rapine of her time her on earth had broken her
Torn her
Destroyed her
She had a morsel of hope;
A small drop of it trickled from her nexus into her dreams
Dreams where she sired of the genesis of an ethereal future
A haven where her virtu would not be crimped from the from its full potential
An asylum where someone would allay her mind and
Forbid the raging river of pain and loss to wax
She had a hope for love
