Captivated by this world of jazz and liquor
I stand in the corner fascinated by what I see
Women in short dresses shimmy alongside their men
As laughter fill the entire room
With Big Al blowing the blues
As bootleggers smuggle liquor
Small tables holding intimate conversations
The latest scandals and secrets become exposed
The laughter of women, the scent of sexuality
Lips curled around cigarettes and booze
See how everyone is free
The beauty that was this culture of discovery
For art, for love, for passion
To bad 1929 hit them big
Author notes
Option one
I really wanted to capture the 1920's very briefly and I was inspirited by one of my favorite musicals “Chicago” which in my opinion displays the era at its best.

This is really good I love the piece and how it all just flowed together.

In line 6 I'm pretty sure you meant to say smuggle and not snuggle.
I liked your interpretation of the era.
Good luck and please don't respond to this comment until judging is final -

"The laughter of women, the scent of sexuality
Lips curled around cigarettes and booze"- that was my favorite part! Good stuff. Sounds like you brought a night of the 20's back to life here. Thanks.
