hop, step, shake
hips twist
energy and grace
flow through the same funnel
arms swing
hair cascades
brows play see-saw
eyes gleam, squint, whisper
lips stretch
an elastic bridge
hearts and souls connect
composition waves
in rhythmic currents
notes escape in bubbles
burst into rains
tap-tap
BOOM
fizz
jingle
scrape
click
strings vibrate
mallets bounce
fingerholes whistle
spirits heal, sing
elbows waltz
wrists belly-dance
thumbs and fingers couple to salsa
mudras play in light and shadows
inked sticks and paint-soaked bristles
party together, laughing
a symphony of colours
radiant, polished, pastel, grim
emotions flush
abstract to reality
intangible made tangible
spaces fill
waste sculpts to beauty
talent, skill, innocence
craft together
weave delicate patterns into complexity
expressions unravel
masks and masquerades
an array of movements
swift, gentle, sharp, monstrous
feelings turn to puppets
cords attach words and mimes
mutes speak
deafs hear
blinds see
the dead, inanimate live
limits weaken
imagination conquers
the artist
controls
is controlled
by art

homage paid to all arts and craftsmen, in their own medium that connects with all others, creativity becomes the art and the art becomes the "all" a link and a chain to understanding ...expression through words and or music, photo and paint, dance [so many different languages-so many barriers lifted]Great job

oh, fanks a lot!!

so sweet of you to read it. i like the drums.. but i hate being close to one especially when it's being beaten.. gives me a series of heart attacks.
yep.. i really loved the thought of the interconnectedness of the various art forms.. this piece helped me express that bit.
Thanks loads for reading and commenting! I really appreciate it!

Nice write. I'm usualy a but sinicle of freewrites but you seem to have a great flow to you work that makes reading it quite enjoyable. i like the flow from discription to discrition, from the movements to the creation. Well done and i like the end result of imagination winning out.
If your interested i'v written a very silly piece which i think you might agree with called "My Story".
Thanks for the read.

Ecclectic And Thorough
I dance Mudra though I will never be a Mudra. It is a lovely art.
Arts, and artists, are an ecclectic bunch. You use imagery and onomatopoeic phrases to convey this. Well done. -

oh, hey, thanks a lot!!
i'm glad you liked it.

Impressive...
This poem had a beautiful rhythm and flow to it...I think it describes how I feel about music and art perfectly ... I especially love the title and the way it begins...Wonderful!!
The only part I might change would be the lines,
"masks and masquerades
an array of movements
swift, gentle, sharp, monstrous
feelings turn to puppets
cords attach words and mimes
mutes speak
deafs hear
blinds see
the dead, inanimate live"
I like this but I'm not sure what it all means...I tend to like poetry that is shortened and this is a good line going into a different poem
..."masks and masquerades"...
I'm trying to decide if that is too much illiteration or if there really is such a thing...
This is an intriging contest...I hope U win it!

hey! thanks so so much!! i really appreciate that comment of yours and the suggestions you had to give along with the applause!
about the lines you did not really understand, it's actually talking about drama. this whole poem shows the interconnectedness of dance, music, visual art and drama where the 'experimenter' is an artist engaged in his work of art.
the masks and masquerades also show how visual art is combined into drama. hope it now stands clearer to you?
by 'illiteration', did you rather mean 'alliteration'?
thanks again so much for your views and kind thoughts.
i very much appreciate it!
bless ya!

I love how you capture the magic in the moment of creating. This is a very lively exciting poem.
My favorite part is your last 2 stanzas, especially the 2 lines in the 2nd stanza from the end, it just captures the whole powerful essence of the arts.
Nice entry and thanks for entering! -

you know what? even i like the last 2 stanzas the best.

thanks so much, i appreciate your comment and also the contest! thanks a lot for this opportunity! it really helped me get my emotions out about the interconnectedness of music, dance, drama and visual art. loved writing.

*Hug* bless ya!
