A myriad of images stalk around me
The flashes of souls long gone.
Life has left them in a void of time
Meandering, no hurry,no place to go.
Looking for the world serene, at peace
As a sparkling line in the heavens
They seem to flash past me so fast.
A child’s soul plays bat and ball
So quick the images pass me by.
Pipers and soldiers home at last
With family they walk beside, smiling.
Long lost lovers, a glimpse I see
Hand in hand, cheek to cheek.
I know in time myself will be
A flash of a ghost for someone to see.

Your words echo with a haunting eerieness that still is laced with a subtle beauty throughout each line penned. You have done well with your assigned title. This was a pleasure to read and have here in my contest. Thank you for entering and good luck!
