When i sit and think
about what has become of this world,
i realize you must be on the brink
of insanity to understand it.
A war-mongering christian leader,
when Jesus himself taught tolerance and love.
so much violence for no reason,
it fits these times like a glove.
A trashed planet,
smut on television.
poor public education,
and thinkers are treated with derision.
Hate hate hate,
no reason for so much of it.
without a chance for love,
terrible acts they commit.
This boggles the mind so,
and i can't take it anymore.
the problem is often too many people too close,
life becomes a tragic chore.
I go to my hammock,
and realize how my companion cares for me.
my beautiful german shepherd sees no wrong,
but sky, earth, and sea.
She realizes not the pain,
the greed, the ignorance, and anger
that, shine or rain,
makes our world go round.
All she sees is her family.
we are her pack.
she's my best friend and only real companion.
without her, a real life i lack.

I just love my doggie Jessie Lee so much more than people...just the way a frisbee makes her day is nice.
