Winter's Second Coming

Wind and tears,
Snow and shadows
Creep along the landscape.
A hand closes around mine,
It’s dragging me along,
Changing my direction.
Do I like where I’m going?
Only if it’s with you.

Things are looking up:
Spring is coming, rain
Your kisses fall, but
I hate the rain, how
Could I have forgotten?
In this mud, you can run
If you know how to navigate,
But I don’t, slipping and falling.

The hand releases; I stumble
Until, looking around
Realizing tears and snow
Have returned once again.
This I can handle:
Snow boots on, I stomp,
Making my own path again
In winter’s second coming.

    Oh, dear...

My heart goes out to you, hun. I've been there, done that before, as it seems that my luck in relationships is absolute crap. But you've captured all of the heartache and emotion in such a passionately powerful piece. I LOVE it... It reminds me so much of how I felt when I was going through the same. So sorry to hear the bad news. All the best to you, and you know that I am always here for you! It'll all be okay one day.

    Much love,

    Laura xo
