Dreaming in Colour

Dreaming in Colour

Trapped in a world of black and white
She’s trying to find something between darkness and light
She’s trying to find a way to break through
She wants to see the world in different hues

Dreaming in colour
Living in black and white
But she’s not going to give up, not without a fight
Silently, she takes in all that she can see
Painting the cold world in hopes to set it free

Just a little girl
All alone in the world
Ready and waiting to face life as it unfurls
Sitting in her dark room, she paints what the world shows
In hope that one day the world will see what she already knows

A brush in her hands, the world becomes her canvas
She struggles to bring it to life
Against all odds
Against all strife

Dreaming in colour
Trapped in black and white
She’s only a little girl
Trying to bring the world to life

Escaping the darkness
Hiding from the light
She’s searching for something in between
Something her heart whispers of but has never seen

She shares her gift with those around her
Sharing her visions that are bound to her
She wants everyone to dream that dream of hers
Become she knows that together they’ll be able to paint the world in colours

    very interesting

i love the subject of the dreaming to be in colour, i too have entered in this contest, and have written about the same picture. its interesting how weve both produced writes about being in a sort of another world, dreaming. i think this is a very effective write which links very well to the picture.

i enjoyed the rhyming in this piece altho there was a section i thought could have been improved (the third section), however it still works and perhaps you intend it to not all rhyme. anyway its a great piece and it flows well. well done. and good luck in the contest
