Epitome of Canvas

"Without freedom, no art; art lives only on the restraints it imposes on itself, and dies of all others." -Albert Camus

This soul was once
unavailing in ways
of thoughts confined

Barren was this sea
of words-

 -Sea of color

And rediscovery has
yet to conjure up
memories beyond this
dormant escape; transparent
inspiration sought to simply
become another outlet

Bristled softness and
accompanied shapeless
shapes has transformed
leaving only an epiphany
of maneuvered sweeps

Yet still, life presented
to these eyes while the
confinement initiated
plans for escape

So for now, while attributed
betides lie awake, I'll
remain submerged underneath
dreaming of a new color to
call my own

Very lovely piece. It was a beautiful work of art in its self and it conjured up many more artistic images for me.

I especially liked this part, and I also liked how you referred to shapeless shapes, because it's really the artist who breaths life into them:

    Bristled softness and
    accompanied shapeless
    shapes has transformed
    leaving only an epiphany
    of maneuvered sweeps

There were many other nice sections too.

Thanks for entering and best of luck in my contest.

blooper? check again, second last stanza:

    "confinement inituated
    plans for excape"

this piece, is SO beautiful... i had to read this slowly, digesting all the images.. and i just love the way you uniquely spin the words.. love your idea, that of 'dormant' 'confinement'... it's like you're letting the colours incubate, and then when you finally get the escape planned out, "WHOOSH!" a blast of colours and many sensations...
totally loved the 4th stanza and the play with the hyphen and also the oxymoron of "shapeless shapes". so, very, true.

    brilliant!
thanks for sharing. you should place.
    good luck anyway.
