For the love of the ride

Many miles we drive "Just to take the ride"

given plenty of sweat, and chapping that hide.

Quickness out of the hole to beat the next go round,

another purse won as we move on to the next town.

Dirt roads traveled and seeing plenty of new faces,

into some off beaten paths of some beautiful places.

Unforgettable sunrises while you lay the rope down,

tying another steer with a smile from the rodeo clown.

Dusting off my hat that I lost in the last heat,

while walking off thinking how he went down so sweet.

As I hear the announcer say; Another record broken,

Did you see him go? ~Man he was smokin!~

Then I climb one more time upon my faithful mare,

with a firm tone she turns to me with that look so rare.

It's time to break the bank as I give it all we've got,

seems hard work paid off driving away with another pot.

The sound of hooves ring through the silence
Like a heartbeat with a steady clip clop
Blood, sweat and tears blend daily
To the Rodeo rider; the real King of the beast....

This is great[just a couple of typo's... rodes should be 'roads' and tieing, 'tying', othewise great job mate]
    Well done Gets...

I really could envision the rodeo scenery and start to feel the rhythm; but then it ends with "Dusting off my hat that I lost in the last heat," and I wonder where the rest of the words went??? Blue

It's a very good poem but it feels unfinished. What you have here is awsome except the last line reads funny.
