The roses turned black as the gravestone evanesced,
And the girl standing before it droped to her knees,
Begging the Fates that, please,
She could have one more day with her love, now demised,
She could tell him her love, hope and dreams,
Too long repressed.
But the moon went from bright to colorless gray,
As the marker faded away.
Memories of vows sworn in the name of love,
"Let us never part,
Lest the jealous Fates rip us apart.
For my heart longs for your heart,
And my lips need yours,
I need you,
And this love we share is true."
The Fates made her a liar,
Made her destroy the love they shared,
But she would keep the vow,
Fighting the fates, this she dared.
She ran to the cold stone grave,
For there was one last vow she could save.
The Fates did not like her disobedience,
This woman blinded by mortal love.
They tried and failed to stop her,
For not even the Fates can stop one fueled by true love.
She fought the weakness and the sleepieness sent by the divine,
Just to see the gravestone once more,
To shower upon it one last sign.
As she finally reached the grave she fell off of her feet,
And threw the rose onto the soil.
"This is my vow to you, no longer to be broken,
I swear it now as I send you this lover's token.
For not the Fates in heaven or the deamons in hell could keep me away,
This is my love for you, and it's here to stay.
This is what I give you, I swear on the knife,
And this is my love for you, I swear on my life."
She succeded where the Fates could not,
As she embraced where lovers rot.
Author notes
Well, I was really inspired by the first picture, "Surrender", so I made up a story to go along with it. I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I did writing it!
