Heat Haze

witness ...

the shimmer-haze,

inversions left in passing;
cold in all the hidden
                           spaces -

warmth, an aura
seeking to settle,

trailing golden edges
past hope.

eyes cloud with strain -
unable to see what
depths will not ...

(so return to the tally of bank
                                            statements)

until, guilt is soon forgotten -

within a lack of
need to raise
to sight,

those who don't

exist ...

Excellent. You have a way with placing words just so, and allowing it to emphasize the poem itself.

Your images are fantastic as well.

I've stared at heat-waves before, your descriptions in the poem are perfect. The last line is one of those that just hits you and leaves an impression. It's an excellent poem.
