Voluptuous

Sweet melody reaches my ears
Like a drink of water to a man dying of thirst
The marriage of notes causes perfect harmony
The sound carreses me like a lover
It moves my very soul
With skill akin to Orpheus it moves rocks to weep
And rivers to run still
As to not smother the voluptuous hymn

    Skill akin to Orpheus...

    You made me smile...
I had negative connotations in my mind from reference to "Orpheus"...but you've used the name in a way that has replaced my ill feelings and made me smile

    Great write...

I was hoping someone would use this word. Great poem. The flow left me a little bewildered feeling, but I liked the words, and the images you left with me.
