A Broken Stream

How can you say someone is bitter and feels nothing
When you don't know anything of her story?
She jokes about it herself, but maybe only to hide the pain.

Can you see her five years ago,
happy, bubbly, and smiling at the picture of her self
in a wedding dresss in the mirror?
The long nights, the endless planning,
Those knowing stares with her fiance.
Can you see it?

Then the horror struck
As she found out he had died in a car accident.
All those dreams, all those plans, all those smiles, all that trust...
It all just floats down the drain as she lies with tears pouring from her eyes
on her bed that they had once shared.
Can you even imagine?

The grief burried deep by sarcasm,
a part of life she doesn't want to remember;
Something she wants to forget ever happened.
She doesn't believe in what she once had because it was all taken away.
And now she stands in front of 1oo's of students everyday.
They call her bitter and apathic, and she just concedes.
Maybe she wants the pain to leave,
But all she does is hide it and bury it deeper.

Now, can you look at her the same? Can you call her all the things you did before?
Can you joke around that she has no love life; no life besides for school?
Can you see the hurt.....now?

Author notes

I know! I just found this out the other day, too! I was like "HOLY SHIT!" I don't think there are many people that know, really, and now it makes me feel bad when people joke about how she would treat a boyfriend if she had one.

But I'm so glad Amanda is back! You should go comment some poems *coughcoughhackminepleasecoughcough* Oh, excuse me! Hehe.

But this is good, and I love you!

Wow, sweetie, this was sooo good. But which English teacher? Ms, Kotecki? but I don't think so. But anyways, i really did liek this poem. Probably one of your bests. You took all the sadness and pain that this teacher feels and put it into one outstanding poem. Great Job!

    Love Yas!

Hey, Kara. Thanks for the awesome comment. I'm glad you liked it. But it wasn't Ms. Kotecki, who I don't even know, and I'm nt going to name the tacher because I don't think that would be right. But thanks once again for the glorious comment.

And thatnk you RottenXHeartX for you beautiful comment as well. I haven't really written anything in a while or really been on this site and it's good to know that many on here still do post and comment. Thank-you for your kind spirit and words.
