Wars a pitiless beast
felt the least
if you like it
only fools prance
to slaughters romance
never having chance
to try it
when face that smiled
that once was child
now's cast off leaving
of your cleaving
will the blood
the snow
the ravens wing
remind you of raptures
horror unheeded
who is your beloved
that eats the dead
so gloriously
your hero’s portion
like lot
to fall in forgotten field
and restless memories
drowned in drink
sooner die in bed
smiling like a baby
at those gone ahead
who beckon and call
let body fall
down through dark earth
swallowed like a lover
that left yesterday
FalCon
whatever

Grrrrrrrrreat
Great poem about war. It's very anti- war and I like that because I'm anti- war myself. Great message and great poem. -

thanx, its kind of a reaction to a bunch of epic poetry I read lately that tries to make war sound like its heroic,I think peace is heroic, and war aint so nice when you have to look at what you've become, nothing romantic at all about killing
