I choose to be who I am
I choose to be me
I choose to be who I am
Who I am is me
My beauty ranges in all the land leaving the men in awe
But one day it was all over with the empowerment of a swan
I strolled the street through thick and thin
Skipping down the road and its endless end
Then comes a man, I’ve never seen
The smile on my face is returned with hi stare so mean
He takes me by the hand, and says you can stay or you can run
He said, it is now your time you are the specific chosen one
My body stops, my brain does freeze
I say yes, but I swear it wasn’t me
He throws me into the river, and I am left in amaze
the river makes Is ripples, and its condensed waves
I sink to the bottom there is no air
I cry inside, for this I cannot bare
The swan saves me, breathes life into my own
Fills my grace and beauty with his sort, its still unknown
WE are one
The swann is me, and I am the swann
I am human here until dawn
I am in the river, I see the sawn. The swann sees me
I still wonder how this posiibly could be
WE are one
The swann is me, and I am the swanna
I am human here until dawn
I choose to be who I am
I choose to be me
I choose to be who I am
I am the chosen Marie

interesting take on the pic...

Very wonderfully captured tale taken from the image inspiration. I like the story and the rhythm. Some small typos detract from the overall presentation but do not take anything from the poems impact. Thank you for entering into the contest.
Be well and be blessed,
