A Poem for Father
I sit in my room
Wondering why you are so cold
I realize your just saying you love me
You protect us with all your might
And even though you don’t really show it
You do get concerned when we’re not around
You’ve had a hard life
You don’t know how to express it
You try to stay away
You don’t want to get hurt
You’re just like me only wiser
I want to say I’m sorry
You don’t deserve my harsh words
I want to say I’m sorry
I know you love me
You always will
When I say things out of anger
I know it hurts you
I want to say I’m sorry
I don’t understand
I want to say I’m sorry
You can be gentle
I beg for your forgiveness
I’m sorry I disappoint you
I beg for your forgiveness
I’m sorry I hurt you
I beg for your forgiveness
Please teach me to be true
I beg for your forgiveness
Please teach me your views
I love you daddy
With all my heart
I love you daddy
I don’t want to grow apart
I love you daddy
I don’t intend to be mean
I love you daddy
That will always stick
I love you daddy
Even when I leave
I’ll still love you always
Always forever
This is my heart’s words

Awesome write. I know I say really mean things to my dad sometimes but I never really mean it. Just say sorry and tell him you love him. He already knows but I think it would be nice if he heard it again. Anyway, good job! thanks for entering and good luck.

I can relate to some of this so it really hit home for me. It was heartfelt and conveyed really well
