longing for the simple life
one she left behind
not knowing how she came to be
or how she could return
she had never felt home on land
water always soothed her
loved she was by all the knew her
they knew why she was so sad
or why free time she always spent
lounging in the water
she never saw the form that others
seemed to know
for when she looked into the waters
she saw the lovely swan
knowing only that one day
she would float upon the waters

Hearing the call, she can not help but answer. For that is where she longs to be. Seeing in the reflection the swan she is meant to become. Very nicely written and thank you for entering into the contest.
Be well and be blessed,
