Through the keyhole
Take a look and see
What this, my soul withholds
The world no longer plastic
Facts are not the goal here
No longer do her people think
of Earth as a sphere
The world is a canvas to be painted
A different, adjacent place
Where transgressions and blemishes
Need only be erased
Fairies dance in rows
Atop the toes of their keepers
Each ripple of the stream sings
of colors racing on her back
Look again
See all these fly
In every shade and hue
All of reds, yellows, and blues
Within the sparrow's feather
soaring, winding upon the zephyr
As my soul unfolds
And what it holds
Is brought to your attention
Behold my creation
All, elements of makes this place
So miraculous, and true
Take them, use them
Show the rest, this, our illusion
I see the world through different eyes
This can seem to cause confusion
And I plan to paint in over
No longer and illusion
Author notes
I see the world not as a landscape or a sphere, or even as a planet, as the majority of my fellow brothers would. I see the world as a large canvas waiting to be painted, as a different, adjacent world. Not the industry based, fact driven place to which many have become to be accustomed to, but one that is filled with fairies, dwarfs and other magical creatures. Nearly all do not see these wonderful elements of this world simply because they do not take the time to look at the intricate details that make our world so beautiful and so special. I have always felt driven to show others just how wonderful our world is by bringing attention to the details that most so quickly discard. I see the world through different eyes, and I plan to paint it over.
Although I love to use all the elements around me to create different illusions in my work, color, and the diverse moods that it creates is probably the loudest voice in my pieces. To truly see into my thoughts and daydreams one must be able read the colors. Then I also, literally, use music to express myself as well. Music tends to inspire a lot of my work. However, I am too curious to use any specific medium or technique, and I greatly look forward to finding new elements with which I may play with tomorrow. To me, tomorrow is one more windowsill that I can stick my nose in to see what else I might discover. I always feel that the best that I can be is waiting just over the horizon.
I have a passion for living and a deep desire to show others exactly what I see. Often, being an artist is seen as a profession. Others may see it as a hobby and no more than that. Art, to me, is a way of showing others the things in life that they somehow seem to have missed. An artist’s greatest joy is found when others can realize and share in their view of life. Passion is the one true thing that drives an artist to create their greatest masterpieces, and passion is the key hole through which this world can take a glance at my world.

Great write. And TRULY AMAZING literary device usage in this. I just LOVED the symbolism and the Metaphorical speaking. Great job and good luck in the contest. Thanks for your entry.

I like your metaphor and how you see life as a canvas waiting to be painted. What I like about painting is that there are really no mistakes that can't be fixed or painted over. I like how the only limits within art are our imaginations and it's a really neat idea to apply that to life, a life where the limits lie only in our imaginations. I'd love to live that way. Very nice intriguing piece. Thanks for entering and best of luck in my contest

Very intriguing piece! You delve into the mysteries of life. The use of Earth as your canvas is original and unique. This write has a fabulous flow and very intense imagery. Job well done!

I agree with you about art though for me imagination has always fulled my passion so passion is key but it comes from my imgination. I love your idea of Earth a as a canvas waiting to be painted. I agree. Earth is not a bundle of rocks and statistics. She is waiting for us to notice her secrets and invest her with meaning beyond the obvious.

Really, really good poem. Mysterious and just... different. The idea that there is beauty and mystery in the everyday world is too little used or understood. Bravo.

Wow...
You are an amazing writer, and I'm not saying that because you are one of my best freinds or because of the feelings I have for you. I'm saying this because I know what I see, and I see something great inside you and inside of your works. I would have to say that even though we may see different worlds, our visions are very similar and that we both want to recreate the world to be a better place. I say that one day it will be a better place and it will be like in my dreams. I hope that you continue writing and never give up that passion you have to create art, in whatever form it might be in.
With Love,
The Angel, Levi
