Reflections in the Mirror

Woke up this morning,
took all of my time,
for frightened I was,
by the thoughts brewing in my mind.

Life is tearing into me,
my skin is burning,
who am I looking at,
the man in mirror isn't me.

Compassion has abandoned me,
it is the chain of hate that lives in me,
I am lost yet I breathe,
why must I suffer such placidity.

Life where are you taking me,
let the ship of fools,
bear down on me,
as the Clan grows stronger.

Rage consumes me,
deception, greed and vanity,
the Syndicate will lead,
death will follow.

Armageddon awaits mankind,
all you Godless people,
the hand of destruction makes you bleed,
feel the life fleeing your bodies.

May the Almighty have mercy,
on your unrepentant souls.

Thank you very much for the HM, I really appreciate that.
I have moved on from those dark feelings but they are never too far from the surface.

It fascinates me the way people see their own reflection and that it only ever holds the bad in them and never the good, ok I am guilty too.... this is a very poignant write you have here, well worth coming in to read

I feel there are many of us can look at ourselves and question who we are/what we are doing here and why? It is difficult to know our place in this unrepentant world of attitude and hate. We can but change the things we can and leave the rest, living life to its fllest! Good write, I liked it.

Liked the passion in this piece but I think it sounds negative to someone who might not have the same beliefs as you, almost condeming. Not sure if that's the message you wanted to get across. Strong write nonetheless.

      Hi

      Hi Amanda,

Of course these poems reflect a certain moment in time and are usually close to the heart as opposed to the dispensing of general wisdom so to speak.

It is the reader who decides if they find themselves in what others dare to share.

    Well stated!

The rampant corruption and lovelessness is unbearable! I know what you mean. When will it all be over? When will humanity learn a lesson. We never do. I look in the mirror often, and wonder myself. Who am I? Am I just a part of this sick cesspool as well. Then, their are times that I think I might still catch glimpses of compassion and humanity there...reflected back at me, from the mirror...and sometimes from others...

    I especially liked this part:

    "Compassion has abandoned me,
it is the chain of hate that lives in me,
I am lost yet I breathe,
why must I suffer such placidity."

    Well done!

Wow, this was a very powerful poem. I think the part that stuck out to me the most was, "Armageddon awaits mankind,
    all you Godless people,
the hand of destruction makes you bleed,
feel the life fleeing your bodies.
    May the Almighty have mercy,
    on your unrepentant souls."
I know that's true. I think one of the reasons it stuck out to me the most was because of it's directness. I have to give you a lot of credit for being that bold. Awsome job. Keep it up. God Bless!
