How could he?

as innocent as a new born babe
they said

you knew nothing about anything
and he took that all away
showing you more than
what you needed to understsand
at the age of four

just a child
who learned that boys
do not care what age you are

as long as you have
the body part(s) they want
you are fair game
be you daughter, sister,
cousin, relative

life isn't fair
but then neither was he

this poem touched a personal chord in me, and the loss of innocence in this way is deplorable in every sense of the word...
it is written in a very young voice, almost that of the child - not 'fair' is a word that a four year old might use i think ...
thank you for entering this poem in my contest which oddly [wrong word]i posted as i struggled with my own feelings around lost innocence. There have been many entries and this is one poem that captured what i was seeking...

    ALRIGHT

A truth that goes beyond words. Most girls today think that the guy really loves them. When in fact like you have penned they are out to score big time.Only thing I could never figure out is they wanted to marry virgins but they try to tag all they could,go figure.
    Good Penning
    Good Luck in your contest

Yes, it isn't fair. That doesn't mean he had the right to invade a child. People like that are sick in the mind.

this is one of the few issues that move me to violence..a strong statement was made in this...you just laid it out on the line..no frills..I like that with these types of issues..

    Brilliantly touching

Perhaps we need to have a few of these poems sent out to the world to touch those hard cold hearts who allow these things to happen.

Not sure what part is confusing here - can you be more specific?
