evensong

Memories of twilight...
That never were conceived.
Amidst narcotic caresses,
Lending others to believe.

Bodies dancing under the starlight,
Wraiths court the angels of the moon.
Turning, twisting, colliding, spurning,
Keeping steps to an unearthly tune.

Fleeting glances in a corner eye,
Materializing with a gaze.
Embracing, taunting, as darkness reigns,
Dancing out the light of days.

    narcotic caresses?

Ok aside from not knowing what that means, I rather like this piece, particularly the 2nd stanza, which reminds me of a childhood memory: The sunlight shining through a window making the dust particles floating in the air look like little sparkles and me dancing and spinning in circles in the middle of it. OK nothing to do with twilight, but that's what it reminds me of

See, if I lived on the marsh, I'd see these kinds of things, too. Little creepy, in that cool sort of way. What the heck are narcotic caresses?

Aw, gawrsh thanks. I wrote it last night after my brother-in-law asked me to write some lyrics for his band. Wrote the other one, too, and have a third, but I can't think of one line to complete it, so it's going to be sitting there.

Ms Barbara, you are a poet's poet. And me too. I'm a fan with an addiction. Thank you
