Wide eyed and longing
She was there open
Untouched and clean
World of misfits
All she saw
But unbeknownst
She was all but alone
Wondering how it is
That she can know bliss
In her state of ignorance
She was there open
Untouched and clean
World of misfits
All she saw
But unbeknownst
She was all but alone
Wondering how it is
That she can know bliss
In her state of ignorance
Author notes
Ego departure from materialism. The truism of ignorance is bliss. Here's a quote about the woman in the mirror (a perfect example of ego departure).
"The moment of happiness of the painting is characterized by an almost complete absence of ego. The woman appears not so much to be admiring the pearls in the mirror as selflessly, even reverently, offering them up to the light: it is as if we were present at a marriage."
