The Kundalini-Shakti-Snake (Metered Mirror-Rhyme)

Missing image
painting : “Lord Shiva” by maa

The Kundalini-Shakti-Snake
Appeared within your life
Illusionary dream to break
And ending fruitless strife

Identity of old released
The outer skin is shed
And vital energy increased
While healing flame is spread

Transmuting poison of the mind
Of body, spirit, soul
It’s Immortality you’ll find
As your most precious goal

When Cosmic Consciousness is thine
Where alchemy takes place
Two snakes around a sword entwine
Great wisdom soon to face

Without resistance you’ll embrace
All gifts that life bestows
Within your vacant inner space
Male-Female balance glows

Ambition, resolution, dreams
Will be your present soon
To charming powers, as it seems
Your soul tends to attune

When Snake the Spirit-Plane will reach
Ascension will be yours
The vastness of your heart to teach
Removing walls and doors

Across the sands of consciousness
Like river to the sea
Surrender to your “Whol-i-Ness”
Your past identity

The Kundalini-Shakti-Snake

Author notes

I love this poem, because it reads backwards and forwards, still making sense ... and I very much enjoy the symbolism of the "snake" which has been so misinterpreted in some of the dogmatic religions ... I also feel that this write transmits a very positive energy to its readers, and inspires and encourages the shedding of our snake-skins of old beliefs, bringing about change and renewal ... may it be a blessing to all who read it ...

*kundalini … dormant energy situated at the base of the spine, coiled up like a snake, which can be awakened through certain techniques of yoga

**shakti … the feminine aspect of the Divine manifested as Energy – opposed to its masculine aspect (shiva) of pure Consciousness without manifestation

***

two days ago, I had a dream about a red snake biting me in my left thigh … yet I didn’t die of the poison, but realized that I was immortal … the next day, a dear sisterly friend and poetess on ap has asked me a question, in answer to which I used my medicine-cards … and the card that came up, was THE SNAKE …
in some religions, the snake is perceived as “evil”, yet my studies of dream-symbolism and Native American animal-medicine, have opened my mind to alternative interpretations … also, the snake is considered as sacred in traditions like Buddhism (the Buddha is often portrayed with a hooded cobra above his head) and Hinduism (where for example Lord Shiva has a snake around his neck – like on the painting) and has a very beautiful and healing message for us … and, by the way, my zodiac sign in chinese (and tibetan) astrology is THE SNAKE ... spooky, ha ?

I too enjoy the symbolism of the snake...the constant shedding of the old to embrace the new; the tail in mouth that represents infinite possibility. The grace of one that lives life close to mother's skin.
You capture all the mystical relations to this creature and present it in this mirror of excellence.
My "Bright Beliefs" about the rainbow serpent pales in comparison. This write weaves a spell hypnotizing. Blue

    Brilliant penwork !!

Hi Sweet Sis! Guess who just read your poem? Hmmm...I'll give it up at the end I was delighted to find the painting of Lord Shiva. It is superb! You know, I adore Lord Shiva and believe that one day He will connect me with the man I shall spend my life with. Om Namah Shivaya is a mantra that resonates in my heart many many times in each day. Last night I opened this page but I was too tired as it was 3am and wanted to go to bed. The first thing I did this morning was that as soon as I was up at 6:10am, I clicked open this and looked at Lord Shiva, took His blessings, today is Ram Navmi(the wedding anniversary of Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati and 2 other divine couples as well). So, I am feeling privileged to write my feedback on this gorgeous effort by your pen today

Your poems are powerful, so magical, and touch my heart in many many ways. I loved the imagery and messages contained in this poem and enjoyed the alliteration.

I give up - The person I shared this poem with is dad. He was like - "wow! she writes so well, learn from her".. He was reading your dream story so keenly forgetting all about his sprained right shoulder.

All the best and big hugs,
    Chari

P.S. Have you made a painting of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha? If you do, do send me one. It would be a treasure for me.

thank you so much for your wonderful comment, dearest chari ... and thank you, dad, for having read it, too ! your daughter is my poetic role-model and this little one here (that's how maa's called by spiritmother and native spirit ) can learn a lot from charishma !!!
so, you see, while the rats are biting your daddy, the snakes are biting me ...
what could all of this mean ?

I have sent you the link to my shiva-parvati-painting ... haven't painted ganesha yet ...

am so eager to read your Amma-poem ...

What an interesting form of poetry you have written. Great rhythm and rhyme in these lines, good flow and topic that is very unusual. I do not mind snakes at all - many garter snakes around here. Thanks so much for entering this contest.

thank you so much for your lovely comment, dear grannyeri as well as for your gift of points for the inofficial hm - which I appreciate very much !!! I am glad you liked the form and that the snake hasn't scared you too much your white dove avatar looks so graceful next to the cobra in the border ...
I would rather live with a dove than with this serpent, to be honest ...
      all the best to you,

thank you so much for this generous gift of a truly profound and inspired comment - it is a precious blessing for me ...
I have no idea why I chose this image for this poem, actually it was only because of the snake around Lord Shiva's neck ... but I also got a sudden flash while reading your "words from Spirit", and realized that Lord Shiva's body is dark-blue because he has swallowed up all the poison of the Universe, transmuting it for us ...
then, I connected it with a tibetan tangka-painting I have here (the one you see behind my head on my avatar's pic): this is the Medicine Buddha, and He is completely dark-blue as well - which brought me back to the fact that in the Native American Tradition, medicine-men with the Snake-Totem, must undergo arduous initiations, where they are bitten by snakes and are supposed to transmute the poison just by the power of their mind ... either they die, or they become medicine men ...
      isn't this fascinating ?
I have the certainty, that you have been Spirit's messenger for me this morning, to help me remember my sacred mission here on earth ...
by the way, I have recently been diagnosed with a rare and severe lung-disease due to "poisoning" by the dejections of the pigeons and turtledoves I have taken care of for a year and a half ... there's no traditional way of healing this, and the school-medicine has only "cortison for 6 months" to suggest ... so I am obliged to find a way of transmuting the poison in my body (my hands are very often dark-blue due to the lack of oxygen in the blood), and to heal myself ...
so, you have given me a lot of courage here ...
I am forever grateful to you, my sister (well, you're adopted now )

      much love,
      marion

ps. I only thought that I have written this poem for another soul, but in reality, I have written it as much for myself as for her ...
      life is great !!!!!

    Philosophy 101 ...

Before I mention that your poem lined up with some great philosophy and messages to meditate on, I want to say that your painting is fantastic. Such art comes from the soul and you seem to have shown yours with this one! Applauds for both these inspirations! joy

    IMPRESSIVE!!!

I am so speechless!! This is most certainly an amazingly interesting poem my friend! It is funny how much your work just resonate with me. Seems that the Snake, as a totem animal, might have many lessons for you to learn. Guess what...I am also born in the year of the Snake
The Snake it this respect was honored and almost seen as holy!
This is also a very interesting style that you have used, the mirroring of the whole poem is also evident of the polarities in your life and for some reason I sense that you have transformed in a profound way in order to find a balance that you might have longed for.

I am always interested in what people dream, as my dreams are so vivid, EVERY NIGHT, and at times totally insane! My fiance listens to my dreams in the mornings, grin and think that I am totally disturbed hahaha!!

Well done girl!!! This is brilliant!!

hey, snake-lady ... so you're also stuffing up your hubby's head every morning with your dreams ? well, join the club !!! they only say that they think we're crazy, but actually they love us teaching them the messages of the subconcious soul ... since probably they don't listen to their inner voice themselves ... so they need us to be their spokesperson ...
my hubby always gets up to do something really important while I talk, or is very much in a hurry to walk the dogs, stuffs himself with lots of sweets or just shifts off ...
so I just stopped talking for 10 days ...
and he BEGGED me to speak again ... he just couldn't stand it ... I actually got used to it and loved it ... anytime again

    Grand

This is personally touching, since like many people, I have a history to surmount and mistakes to reverse. Your poem offers hope that not only can this be done, but there is a great future beyond that. I read yesterday that the snake is a symbol of transformation and renewal, because of its ability to cast its skin.
Your verse is wonderful, metrical and well rhymed, and carries shining images. Well done, and thank you.

how wonderful how we all resonate with the same teachings and messages that life sends us at the same time ... there is no coincidence that all those who come to this page, will have something to do with "the snake", in one way or the other ... this is certain ... I love to be a messenger, and I love to see the resonance of the message in the hearts of different people ...
      awesome ...
