To dare to dream
To dream of a different world.
A world where flight is more than
Just a far away wish.
Where we can take to the air
Upon our own two wings.
To envision a place where we are free,
Free of binding, free of control, just plain free
Free to do and be what we will.
Where love and friendship really are true
And good always triumphs over evil.
Where love at first sight is real—
And true.
And hope is not false
When a person can dream
With a dream that will come true.
That is a writer’s dream
A world such as this is more
Than one on earth can even hope for
Yet still a writer’s soul aches,
Aches for the perfection of our works
For the happiness that these worlds hold;
Even if the mind tells that these wishes are
Just fantasy
And can never come to be.

this is soooo true! i totally agree and share this fantasy. love at first sight is true...but hardly anyone has experienced it, and hope is always in store for those who give it a chance. great job and good luck!

wow. that was really good!! i looove how it gave me this feeling of flying off a mountain, into the sky. you really portrayed that well. i don't even know if thats what you were trying to do.

WOW!!!!! Your news poems, all of them, are incredible! You really reached into your soul and just pulled out a piece of it in order to write these! And this one was so lovely, the image of freedom that you presented was different than what some people imagine what it should be, but so true! And then you bring it around to show that it's really something that can never be...but it wished for! I think this is my favorite out of all of your poems so far! great job!
