Our Last

Last dance, floating on air
With a girl whose dreams
You can never share
Moonbeam face, sequined hair
Smile and beam and dazzle
An angel, and a wood nymph-both in one

Last dance, twirling in darkness
She winks at you, her eyes sparkle
She'll say goodbye soon, and embark

Silence falls between you, music without melody

She speaks of her dreams;
They are disturbing; the tears streak
But, as always, you are there to dry them

She has calmed the violence in you
Given you some of her life;
Given you this moment-her eyes show her true
The last dance rests between you
A fighting, floating flight
But it has ended, and now, my love, goodnight

Please tell me what you think
