That line in particular caught my attention. It says something about the world we live in.
As for the poem as a whole--brilliantly expressed.

I think the 1st thing anyone has to do in order to just be themselves is to tell pop culture to go to hell!
Don't like things because they're trendy or cool, don't get sucked in to all the bullshit. The world exists outside of all that pitiful crap, and that's where you must live in order to just be "you" because inside, blinded by the bling bling no one will ever truly see you for "you".
